Sunflowers, Greenhouse, and Photo Truck

If you're searching for sunflowers in Texas Summer, look no further than Stem and Light! When Baila Milliken Photography announces a styled session at Stem and Light, I knew this was the perfect opportunity to check it out! This hidden gem has been on my list of desired locations for a while and is tucked away south of DFW amid lush wide open fields. It's complete with an indoor studio, green house, and sequentially planted sunflowers that will stretch the season, and a beautiful Texas backdrop.

On the way down day, I combated severe thunderstorms on the north side of DFW, but was relieved when arriving to open skies! If you've never heard of styled shoots or styled sessions, the best way to describe it is as an opportunity for a variety of vendors to collaborate in a "mock wedding." I love meeting other photographers and meeting new vendors! When I arrived, Beautify the Bride was finishing up final touches of hair and make-up. We started with shots of Baltic Born's dress and detail shots of flat lays, cakes by the lovely Cakes by Tayte and the beautiful bouquet by TR Floral Design & Decor.

Once our lovely models Shelby, Alec, and Savannah were ready, the fun began!

Next we ventured outdoors for the sunflowers, green house, and photo truck! I met the wonderful owners of Palm and Pine photo truck and learned that this season is their one year anniversary in business! Congrats on this milestone! This photo truck was SO much fun to photograph, and they have all the props and set ups for you and your guests.

The green house is in the perfect spot, with the west sunset behind it perfect for golden hour. It was a little toasty in the summer, (perfect for cooler seasons) but totally worth it!

The fields behind are also the perfect Texas backdrop that you need! Wide open skies and lush tall grass, with the sunflower patch near by!

Last but not least, it was time for the cake cutting! Ironically, there wasn't a knife so it was more organic and romantic without, but still fun! Before heading out, I remembered that I might have a butter knife in my car, and I did! Though it wasn't in the photos, it did allow us to cut the cake to taste some of the different layers. A delicious treat for the way home!

Thanks again to all the wonderful vendors, models, and photographers for coming together for this styled session! It was magical and I look forward to working with you again!
